Christmas market:
Rediscover a centuries-old tradition with a visit to the Christmas market. It's a great place to celebrate the festive season, surrounded by great local food and a host of artisanal products. With family or friends, the Pau Christmas market is renowned for its festive and friendly atmosphere.
It's on at Place Clemenceau until 31 December. As you stroll along the 41 chalets lining the Allées Aragon, you're bound to find a souvenir to give to your loved ones. You can also stop off at one of the 9 gourmet chalets set up around the market for a tasty break.
Are you coming with your family? Then the santon exhibition in one of the chalets will be perfect for you. At the end of your visit to our beautiful Christmas market, you'll finally be able to enjoy the 10m x 10m ice rink.
The Big Wheel:
For the first time, the town of Pau has installed a 30-metre high Ferris wheel, which can be seen in the Square Aragon. Admire the city from above in the middle of the day and take advantage of its night-time lighting. Open until 9 December, the wheel is open from 11am to 8.30pm from Sunday to Thursday and until 10pm from Friday to Saturday.
Christmas entertainment :
Every year, the city of Pau transforms itself in the run-up to the festive season with unique decorations, illuminations and entertainment. The streets are covered in lights and music, and the city is transformed into a fairytale setting.
During the Christmas holidays, the town offers a wide range of activities for all ages. Horse-drawn carriage rides, ice rinks, Christmas shows, workshops and concerts are all on offer to delight young and old alike. Children can take part in games, while adults can admire the Christmas lights and decorations.
Place Clemenceau
There's a toboggan run and live music on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Place Royale
Pau's iconic Christmas village will be set up here. It is a small-scale representation of the city and its most representative places and buildings. The Christmas tree will also be in the square.
