LE BRISTOL PAU
A hotel steeped in history
A little history...
Formerly the residence of the chaplain of the Lycée Louis Barthou until 1903, this beautiful building steeped in history was converted into a hotel by a wealthy American owner at a time when Pau was an English holiday resort.
Since then, the hotel has remained the Hotel Bristol: a friendly, family-run establishment, marked by memories handed down from generation to generation.
It is said that General de Gaulle stayed here in February 1959 and that a tunnel links the house to the church of Saint Louis de Gonzagues.
...and now
The owners, seduced by the charms of this exceptional building, are happy to immerse you in the memories of this large traditional house emblematic of PAU and tell the story of this house and objects they have found for your curiosity and comfort.
